Safety

Chicago Jet Ski Rentals takes safety seriously and we require all renters and riders take it seriously as well. Take the time now to read our safety message below and watch the video to become familiar with the safety measures for you and others.

Riding A Jet Ski:

Riding a jet ski is one of the most exciting things you can do on the water especially in Chicago but it can also be one of the most dangerous. Statistics indicate that jet skis are not involved in a much greater percentage of accidents when compared to other watercraft however the accidents where jet skis are involved are more likely to be serious or fatal.

In order to ensure your own safety and the safety of others, there are a few basic guidelines you should always remember while you are operating a jet ski.

First and most important, you must always wear a fitted, Coast Guard-approved lifejacket.

Second, make use of the engine-stop accessory provided that will automatically shut off the engine if you fall.

Now that you’re out on the water, constantly be on the lookout for other boats, skiers, divers, and swimmers. It can be difficult, especially in choppy water, to see swimmers and fallen skiers, so you must be constantly vigilant and keep a wide distance from boats and the shoreline.

NEVER use waves and the wakes made by boats as ramps. Many jet skiers have been injured when they lost control of their craft after trying to jump off of waves. So that you may remain vigilant and alert on the water.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone we assume is under the influence of any and all drugs and alcohol.
